Tributes pour in for Waterford man Aidan Bergin (29) killed in ski accident

Aidan Bergin (29), from Kylemore, Clonea, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, was seriously injured after falling from a height of 600m at the Bansko mountain ski resort near the Todorka mountain peak last Tuesday, January 28.
According to the Bulgarian Red Cross, he was taking photographs with a group when he lost his balance and fell into a gully.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 2.30pm local time and rushed to the scene.
However, amid helicopter issues, it took rescue teams an hour to remove Mr Bergin from the scene and move him to a hospital in the nearby town of Razlog.
He died the following day in hospital.
“Life-saving measures were taken, and a full assessment of his injuries was carried out. But despite all efforts of our medical team, he eventually succumbed to his grave injuries,” Dr Valentin Belchev told the Associated Press.
