We still don’t know what causes Alzheimer’s disease. We’re all very familiar with what it is, though, because it’s so common. Around 1pc of us will develop it and that’s only going to get worse, with the number predicted to at least double by 2050.

One important question is: can we do anything to stave it off? A fascinating recent study says yes.
