A text landed out of the blue on Tuesday. It was from a fella who was part of the Dublin setup during my time playing. For the purposes of preserving his modesty, his identity is being withheld here.

Most of you wouldn’t know or have ever even heard of him anyway. But you couldn’t have enough of fellas like him around a team. You don’t appreciate them nearly enough at the time, but you miss them more than you’d think when it’s all done and dusted.
