Q. I hope you can help as I’m at my wits’ end. My wife (30) and I (32) bought our first home a year ago for €450,000. It’s a three-bed semi-detached second-hand home in an estate. But what should be one of the happiest times in our lives has turned into a living nightmare because of anti-social behaviour from our next-door neighbours.

They regularly have screaming matches, leave debris in their back garden with a scary-looking dog who barks all night and their teenage sons sit on our front wall with other local teenagers. We’ve since found out our neighbour’s house is Part V social housing.
