Revolut has announced the roll-out of in-app calls to personal customers in Ireland — a new security measure to help customers uncover impersonation scams.
The European-licensed bank, which has more than 3 million customers in Ireland, said the feature will also make contact between customer support and Revolut customers safer and more reliable.
Impersonation scams are when a fraudster pretends to be someone’s bank, an authority, or a trusted person, before convincing their victim to send them money or share sensitive details, compromising the safety of their money.
Revolut said the emotional and financial impact to those affected by these scams can be devastating, and so the company has been testing and developing in-app calls for a number of months, creating a feature that criminals cannot replicate.
It offers a secure method to speak to Revolut Customer Support — a call directly through the Revolut app.
