A father and son who left Sligo for Spain got a woman to draw their Jobseeker’s Allowance at Coolaney Post Office and lodge it to a bank account for them for several months, Sligo Circuit Court was told.
Even though they should have been resident here and be available for work in order to draw Jobseeker’s Allowance, the court heard that the post master at Coolaney Post Office said it was okay for the two men to nominate someone to collect the money for them.
