Over 230 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals

234 admitted patients were waiting for beds on Friday morning, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

The organisation’s trolley watch showed that 170 patients were waiting in emergency departments, while 64 were in wards elsewhere in the hospitals.

University Hospital Limerick had the highest number of patients waiting for beds, with 33 waiting in the emergency department and 30 waiting in wards elsewhere.

18 patients were waiting for beds at St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny, while 17 waited at Sligo University Hospital.

14 were waiting at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, while 11 waited at Mercy University Hospital, Cork, 10 waited at Cork University Hospital, and 10 waited at Mayo University Hospital.
