A young woman killed in a hit and run in Co Limerick, who was named locally as Marguerita Sheridan, had given birth to a baby son just three weeks ago.
Ms Sheridan, who was in her 20s and from Rathkeale, died after a silver Ford Transit van ploughed into a set of gates she was standing beside. The driver did not stop to give assistance and fled the scene.
The fatal incident occurred at the entrance to a property located in Rathkeale town centre at around 2.15pm on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased woman had given birth to her first child three weeks ago.
