Gardaí are hunting for the driver of a silver Ford Transit van who fled the scene

Ms Sheridan, aged 22, and from the town of Rathkeale, died after a van crashed into a set of gates she was standing beside.

It has emerged that the young woman had given birth to her first child a boy, just three weeks ago, having gotten married last year.

The driver of what is believed to have been a silver Ford Transit van did not stop to give assistance or contact emergency services, and fled the scene.

The fatal crash happened at the entrance to a property in Rathkeale town centre on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased lady had given birth to her first child, a son, three weeks ago.
