Relentless house price rises continue with another hike of 10pc
Prices nationwide jumped by 10pc in the year to September, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
In the month of September prices rose by 0.9pc compared with the previous month.
In Dublin, they were up by just short of 11pc, with a rise of 9.4pc outside of Dublin, the CSO said.
Property prices have been rising now for 13 months in a row as a chronic shortage of supply and strong demand keep pressure on homebuyers.
The region outside of Dublin that saw the largest rise in house prices was the Border are, which consists of Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, and Sligo, where prices shot up by 15.3pc in the year to September
At the other end of the scale, the Mid-East, which takes in Kildare, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow, saw a 7.5pc rise.
In September, a total 4,167 dwelling purchases by households at market prices were filed with the Revenue Commissioners.
This was down by 2.1pc when compared with the 4,255 purchases in September last year.
