The latest figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisation (INMO) show there is 510 people waiting for a bed in hospitals across the country.
381 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 129 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
The hospital with the highest number of patients waiting for a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 134 people waiting for a bed.
73 people are in the emergency department, with 61 people in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
Cork University Hospital has 47 people waiting for a bed, with 40 people in the emergency department.
St Vincent’s University Hospital has 33 people waiting for a bed, with all the patients in the emergency department.
