In the early hours of the morning on November 6, at his Mar-a-Lago headquarters, Donald Trump took centre stage to celebrate his emerging triumph at the US presidential ballot, surrounded by his family and closest advisors.

As he spoke to the crowds, eyes fell on the person standing to his immediate right and in camera shot. Not a blood relative or veteran political strategist, it was his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.
