An elderly woman has been seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Co Donegal.
The woman, who is in her 70s, was a pedestrian.
She was struck by a vehicle in the village of Bruckless in the south of the county on Saturday night.
The incident happened at approximately 6:20pm on the N56 road through the village.
The injured woman was rushed from the scene by ambulance to hospital for treatment for what have been described as serious injuries.
The road at the centre of the collision remains closed at this time while an investigation into the incident is carried out by Garda forensic officers.
Diversions are in place.
A total of fourteen people have now lost their lives on Donegal’s roads so far this year compared to ten for all of last year.
