Katie Taylor hits back at Amanda Serrano’s claims she threw deliberate headbutts: ‘I wasn’t fighting dirty’

Katie Taylor has dismissed reports of dirty fighting, saying it was a war and “sometimes it gets tough in there” after her unanimous points victory over Amanda Serrano in Texas.

Taylor also called for the Trilogy after two razor thin decision victories over the Puerto Rican.

All three judges scored the bout 95-94 in favour of Taylor, a decision which was disputed by Serrano’s team, after Serrano appeared to be cut by an accidental headbutt from the bray native.

“Thank God I won that fight. Congratulations to Amanda. The trilogy is on,” said Taylor.

“She’s a hard puncher and a tough warrior. I don’t care if the commentary team or the crowd disagree with the result. The only thing that matters is the judges.
