Ireland weather: Dry and cloudy week with minimal rainfall, Met Éireann forecasts

The national forecaster has warned of both poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions for those counties affected.

“Widespread mist and fog expected, thickening and becoming dense in places,” it said.

The counties under the warning are: Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Clare and all of the counties in Leinster and Connacht.

The warning lasts until 10am this morning after taking effect from 7pm on Monday evening.

Overnight mist and fog will gradually clear most areas this morning.

Today will be another dry day with spells of sunshine while staying cloudier further west as the fog lingers across parts of the midlands.

Temperatures will range between 7 and 12 degrees remaining the coolest inland where the fog might be slower to clear.

It will be dry, calm and foggy tonight, especially across the south midlands.

There is a possibility of drizzle on Tuesday night, with temperatures ranging between 1 and 5 degrees and a touch of frost where skies remain clearer.
