Man to appear in court over hit-and-run death of Kedagh Moore (16) in Co Kildare
Gardai responded to the crash, which occurred at about 12.30am on Sunday on the R403 in Blackwood near Robertstown.
Kedagh Moore, who was walking at the time, was fatally injured. His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital.
Gardaí said the vehicle involved in the crash failed to remain at the scene.
The man who was arrested was being detained at a Garda station in Co Kildare under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
In an update this morning, gardaí said the suspect had been charged and would appear in court on Tuesday morning.
“Gardaí have charged the man, aged in his 40s that was arrested in connection with the fatal hit and run road traffic collision that occurred in Robertstown, Co. Kildare in the early hours of Sunday, 10th November, 2024,” the force said.
“He is due to appear before Athy District Court this morning Tuesday 12th November, 2024 at 10.30am.”
It came after funeral details for Kedagh were announced.
